Privacy & analytics
You can practise without signing up or allowing analytics. The text you type is processed in your browser and is not sent to Google Analytics.
Practice history on your device
TypeSarthi saves up to 20 recent test results in browser storage: date, language, duration, speed, accuracy, error counts and how the test ended. These results are not an online account and do not sync across devices.
Use Clear history in the homepage’s progress section to remove those results, or clear this site’s data in your browser. Clearing history does not change your analytics choice.
Optional Google Analytics
When you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics receives page visits and practice events such as test starts, restarts and finishes. The events can include practice language, chosen duration, elapsed time, speed, accuracy, error counts, whether a test ended early and whether pasting was used. Comparable sessions may include a change in accuracy.
Google Analytics also processes standard device, browser, referral and approximate-location information and uses cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Network requests necessarily share your IP address with Google. We do not send names, email addresses, typed passages or your saved practice history. Page URLs sent by our analytics configuration exclude query strings and fragments.
We use this information to understand visits, completed tests and useful practice features. Advertising storage, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our website configuration.
Allow, decline or change your choice
Google’s analytics script loads only after you allow it. Choosing No thanks keeps optional analytics off. You can change your choice using Analytics settings in the footer.
We remember the choice in browser storage for up to 180 days. If browser storage is blocked, it may apply only to the current page. Withdrawing consent stops future tracking from this site and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies; it does not retroactively erase information already sent to Google.
Cookies and retention
Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_… cookies after consent. Our configuration uses a 180-day cookie lifetime. Browser controls can remove these cookies sooner. Our Analytics property uses 14-month retention for user and event data, with the user-data retention reset on new activity turned off. Aggregate reports can remain available longer than individual event data.
Hosting and external links
Our web server keeps standard access and error logs for operation and troubleshooting. These can include IP address, requested page, time, browser information and referring page. Server logs are separate from optional Google Analytics.
